Stan Lee Makes His Mark at Chinese Theatre
Stan Lee is set to make his mark - or at least his handprints in wet cement - in the iconic walkway of the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles.
The ceremony will be conducted by Legion M, a media company that is organizing the handprint event in honor of Lee's impending 95th birthday on December 28, his 70th wedding anniversary on December 5, and the 78th anniversary of his first job at Timely Comics - a position that eventually led to his co-creation of the Marvel Universe.
The tradition of making cement handprints outside the theater extends back to the 1920s, and continues to this day as a way to celebrate the contributions artists have made to pop culture, and to promote specific films or events.
Tickets are now available for the ceremony, which will take place on July 18 at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, California. Tickets are also now available for an after party held at "Stark Mansion" following the ceremony.
