Still On Limbo: "Percy Jackson" TV Series
To recall, it has been reported that The CW has acquired the rights to Rick Riordan's "Percy Jackson" novels, two of which were already made into blockbuster movies top-billed by Logan Lerman. However, based on the said reports, the network wanted a new actor to play the role for the TV adaptation of the demigod as, ideally, Percy Jackson should be around 14 years old. After all, as Lerman is already in his mid-20s, it goes without saying that he is, indeed, no longer qualified to breathe life to the character anew.
While the idea of bringing "Percy Jackson" to the small screen with a new actor playing the role is not a bad idea at all, the absence of any official statement from The CW and lack of any update on which are an indication that it is still in limbo. Furthermore, it has been learned that, on his tweet last year, Riordan addressed the rumors on "Percy Jackson" getting a TV series and dismissed its veracity.
Nonetheless, as Lerman revealed in an interview that he is under obligation to do another "Percy Jackson" movie in the event that there is one, hope is not lost at all for fans who are still eager to see the actor portray Percy Jackson one more time. After all, the movie can always deviate from its book counterpart and tell the story of Percy Jackson as someone in his 20s.
"If we want to make a third one I have to do it, I'm contractually obligated to three movies. I love those movies, they're a lot of fun to make," Lerman told The Independent back in 2014.
