Jackman Would Reconsider Retirement If Wolverine Joined The Avengers

CBR

Hugh Jackman has been adamant for years that “Logan,” which hits theaters in March, would be his final appearance as Wolverine. After nine appearances across 17 years, Jackman has finally decided to quit the clawed X-Man, and not even a potential team-up with Deadpool couldconvince him to stay on board. Jackman is done.

It turns out there is one very specific thing that would get Jackman to don the muttonchops and claws one more time: a team-up with the Avengers. As reported by Screen Rant, Jackman definitely would have reconsidered calling it quits if Fox and Marvel Studios could reach an agreement that would allow Wolverine to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“If that was on the table when I made my decision [to quit], it certainly would have made me pause. That’s for sure,” said Jackman. “Because I always love the idea of him within that dynamic, with the Hulk obviously, with Iron Man but there’s a lot of smarter people with MBAs who can’t figure that out [laughs]. You never know.”
The idea of Fox and Marvel reaching such an agreement would have been an out there proposition, until Marvel Studios and Sony reached a similar one that allowed them to share custody of Spider-Man and his universe of characters. Now Spidey is in the MCU and getting his own solo film (“Spider-Man: Homecoming”) this year. There haven’t even been rumors of such talks happening between Fox and Marvel, though, so the idea of seeing Jackman team up with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man or fight Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk still seems unlikely.
